Twas the Night of Christmas

Well, we still have a few more days until Christmas, but this card depicts Christmas night.  Twas the Night of Christmas takes multiple elements from various companies to create this Christmas card.

Twas the Night of Christmas

I used embossing paste and a stencil from My Favorite Things to create the snow effect.  I also used a stitched die from My Favorite Things to frame the card.  The houses are from Lawn Fawn that I stamped twice to get the effect of a neighborhood.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from that Lawn Fawn set.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to create the blue sky and I colored the houses with Tombow markers.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Luke 2:13  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.’

White on White Christmas

I was visiting a friends blog and she had done white on white cards and they are absolutely gorgeous.  You can check them out at A Mermaids Crafts.

I decided that I wanted to CASE those cards.  She makes it look easy – that’s all I’m sayin.

Christmas Card

White on White Manger Scene

I did cheat.  The bottom layer of the card is not white, but silver sparkly paper from Reflections found at Michaels.  I also used a black Tombow marker from behind the paper to add some contrast to the white.  I did all this is hopes that I could recreate the cards that Lisa made.  I am going to have to keep trying.  🙂

The star background is from Taylored Expressions.  The middle layer is also from Taylored Expressions and is called Nativity Border.  The front layer is from one of the Avery Elle Elle-ment die sets with multiple dies for cardmaking.  The sentiment is one that I have had for years.

Luke 2:12  This will be a sign to you:  You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in the manger.

Cheers to Christmas

Cheers to Christmas comes from Design Team member Diane.  With her busy schedule finding time to make cards for the blog is hard, but we have one today.  And it is adorable.

Check out her Christmas themed contribution.

Cheers to Christmas

This great stamp from Art Impressions is the center of this cute card.  The background paper comes from Echo Park Paper.  The sparkle of the snow is made with Art Glitter.

Isn’t that the perfect holiday sentiment?  That is my greeting to all of my friends and family for the holidays.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more Christmas cheer.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

WOYWW 340 – 16 More Days

It is WOYWW which means I take a picture of my desk and share it on The Stamping Ground.  Then I go and visit fellow crafters and see what they’re up to.  If they’re like me, they are in over their heads!  But that is what the holiday season is all about – right?  😉

Here is my desk this week:

WOYWW Desk from Door

WOYWW – View of Desk from Doorway

WOYWW Desk from opposite end

WOYWW – Desk from other end

WOYWW Side Desk

WOYWW – Side Desk

My main desk looks pretty good.  But that side desk seems to be taking the brunt of the holiday crafting season.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more Christmas fun.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Luke 2:  10  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.

Scrapbooking Your Christmas

Scrapbooking is my original paper crafting love.  I expanded to cards a few years ago, but still scrapbook memories regularly.  It is a resolution for next year to include more of those pages in my blog.

So I am starting my new year’s resolution early:

I used kraft card stock as my base. The patterned paper I used is from Echo Park called The Story of Christmas.  I am loving these papers.  They are perfect for all ages and have a variety of prints and patterns.  I used templates from Kiwi Lane to cut the curved papers on the sides.  I added some embellishments from the Chipboard Accents to add some interest.  These are not my favorite. They separated from the cardboard when I was removing them from the pack and I don’t know how well they are going to stick.  But everything else about this collection I like.

I also used the Tim Holtz Tiny attatcher to add some embellishment to the photo mats  and added some enamel dots around the snowman and the title.

I really enjoy scrapbooking my family events. And now that I am going to be a GiGi (not Grandma) I know I will be scrapbooking even more.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more Christmas fun.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Windows Winter Scenes

Windows with winter scenes just say Christmas.  So we continue the Christmas theme this week with two cards from Jenny.  Need some more inspiration – keep coming back this week and we will try to give you lots of inspiration.

Jenny used her Stampin Up Window Pane Die on both these cute cards.

It’s a Snowman

Jenny used a snowman stamp set from Our Daily Bread for the scene outside the Stampin Up Window Pane Die.

Cozy Christmas

She used The Cozy Christmas set from Stampin Up for the scene on this card.  She used a circle to mask the moon and Tim Holtz Distress inks in Peacock Feather and Dusty Concord to create the night sky.

Most of the sentiments for the cards Jenny’s made this year have come from this Stampin Up set.

This Our Daily Bread set can be used for Christmas and for winter projects even after Christmas.

Luke 2: 8  And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.

Snowmen Everywhere

This week’s theme (and next week’s and next week’s) is Christmas.  Santa and reindeer are associated with Christmas, but today I’m featuring snowmen.

Digi Snowmen

2 Turtle Doves Snowman – The Stamping Boutique

This adorable snowman comes from The Stamping Boutique.  I colored him with different colors for this week’s challenge at Creative Knockouts.  This time I used a sketch from OWH and Bo Bunny’s Altitude collection of paper on the background.  The sentiment if from Lawn Fawn.

Snowmen and Penguin

Bugaboo Winter Trio

I used a cute digi stamp from Bugaboo for this snowman card.  I also used the Altitude collection from Bo Bunny and a sketch from OWH.

On both of the images for these cards I brought the jpeg(digital) image into my Silhouette Studio software.  I traced the image for cutting and added registration marks so that I could print and cut the images.  It’s like having dies to go with your digital images.  I then used (you know where I am going) my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the images.

Luke 2: 6 – 7  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.  She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no guest room available for them.

Stamp, Color, Repeat

This week’s blog theme is Christmas.  Dee shared a card earlier this week that was done in blue.  Now she’s done the same card in red.  What a great way to have some variety, but still be able to have an assembly line card making process.  Stamp, color and repeat.

Christmas Puppies

Ready for some cute Christmas puppies?  This month’s theme is Christmas and Jenny has been busy coloring her Christmas card images with Copic markers.  She was kind enough to share the first one she finished.

Christmas Puppies Card Recipe:

The stamped image is from Northwoods.  The coloring was done with Copic markers, gold sparkle was added with Stickles and she used a glaze pen on the eyes to make them more black.  What a great card to give a fellow dog lover.
