Winter Deer in the Woods

Yes. The theme is still Christmas. In my defense it is Christmas week.  A winter deer is symbolic of this time of year and Jenny made the perfect card.

There is nothing more elegant than a winter deer standing on the edge of the woods.

This card features a new Tim Holtz die called Birch trees, the deer is from the Silhouette store. Glitter dust is sprayed on background and tree cut out.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts. Distressed slightly with Sepia from Versafine.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Christmas Snowmen

We are still celebrating Christmas this week, but it is the last week for a while.    Today’s stars are Christmas Snowmen.

Dee has been busy in her craft room creating these adorable little guys.  And she added shakers!

Matthew 2:20  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

White on White with a Splash of Color

This week’s theme is Christmas and I have some white on white with a splash of color Christmas cards to share.

There is a little background story that I must share first.  I work with a great group of people.  We are a typical group of office workers who get to know each other because we spend lots of time together.  There are four ladies in particular that I like converse with.  Three of them sit in the same area and one sits in my area.

Last year I made the mistake of making them extra special cards for Christmas.  You know, box cards, a shaker card, a card with a colored image.  The kind of cards that take more time to make, but you do it because they will be appreciated.  I say it was a mistake because this year their cards had to be equally as special or better.  Ugh.  The pressure!!!!  So here are the cards I did this year.

The third lady who sits in the other area was out on Friday – so you know what I am going to be doing tonight.  😉  The fourth card is a similar card with woods and red cardinal, but I neglected to get a picture.  I work better under pressure (which means I wait until the last minute) and didn’t get a picture.

These cuts are from Lori Whitlock and are available on her website or at the Silhouette Store.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for yet more Christmas.  Just one more week.  Not even a week and I have so much left to do.  But I keep telling myself – ‘you work better under pressure girlfriend!’

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Matthew 1:19  Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

Santa’s Elf

Today I am going to share a painting of Santa’s Elf – that I painted!  But first I have some exciting news to share.  I have been added to the design team for Send a Smile 4 Kids.  I am so excited to be associated with this wonderful charity.

It is ‘A blog dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Please send us your handmade kids’ cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer. Help us put a smile on our kids’ faces! Thanks for reviewing the guidelines and volunteer updates before sending in your cards.’

Here is the link to the challenge blog:  SAS4Kids Challenge Blog.  They have new challenges starting every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Make some cards and send them in.  It is a great charity.

Now on to my Elf Painting.  A group of us went to a place called the Paint Spot where you paint a picture on canvas.  There is painting and wine which is an excellent combination.  This is my elf:

I need some chalk so I can put something on his little chalk board.  I really enjoyed painting this little guy.  I think I could get hooked on mixed media.  🙂  I do have to admit the elf was already drawn when I started.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Matthew 1:18  This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about:  His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the holy spirit.

It’s All About Giving

Christmas – it’s all about giving.  Of course I use the shopping method – one for me – one for you.  😉  I don’t know about you all, but I stress about giving the perfect gift.  I think if it’s something I would want – my friend or family member would want it too.  Thus – one for me and one for you.

Sherry has been working her fingers to the bone making some awesome gifts for friends and family.

Now if you don’t get some great ideas from all these gifts then I can’t help you.  😉  I wish I was as far along on my gift making as Sherry.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for an announcement that I am very excited about.

Luke 2:19 – 20  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all these things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

This is the card I made:

Winged Wonders - Creative Knockouts

Winged Wonders – Sweet N Sassy

The Titmouse is from Sweet N Sassy stamps.  I did my normal stuff – I pulled the the digital image into my Silhouette Designer Studio software.  I added registration marks and I traced around the image.  I printed the image on my laser printer and cut it out on the Silhouette.  I colored the image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  The silhouette of the Nativity comes from Taylored Expressions.  I used some dies from MFT’s latest release to cute the stitched scallop oval and I added some gold stickles for stars.

WOYWW 341 – Looking Goooooooodddddd

It’s Wednesday which means it’s time to take a picture of my desk and share it for WOYWW on Julia’s Stamping Ground.

I spent some time this weekend cleaning up so that I can mess up my desk again.  And then I messed it up before I took the pictures.

I was very productive today.  I made a scarf and I finished my design team card.  But, of course when I do that, I create more messes!

I’m off to visit desks.  I didn’t get to do that last week.

Have a great day and be inspired.

No Business Like Snow Business

There’s no business like snow business.  There is more Christmas Crafty fun on the way from Diane.  Diane made these cards back in November at an all day crop.  Isn’t she prepared and organized?

No Business Like Snow Business, too

Diane used stamps from Close to My Heart to stamp these adorable little snowmen.  She colored them with Copic markers and added some sparkle with Wink of Stella.  The patterned paper is from her stash.  I would love to get one of these happy cards in the mail.  And check out Diane’s blog for more card ideas.

Ho Ho Ho – Merry Christmas

Christmas projects continue.  Ho Ho Ho Merry Christms features Santa and his friendly elf and spunky reindeer.  He has a red nose, so it must be Rudolph.

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas – Dare2BArtzy

This stamp set comes from Dare 2B Artzy and it is called Santa’s Team Stamp.  I know you’re going to be shocked, but I colored the image with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I cut the image out and then placed it on a bokeh paper from Lawn Fawn.  The holly was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo and the berries are red Stickles.

Luke 2: 15. “When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.””

Twas the Night of Christmas

Well, we still have a few more days until Christmas, but this card depicts Christmas night.  Twas the Night of Christmas takes multiple elements from various companies to create this Christmas card.

Twas the Night of Christmas Santa and his Sleigh

Twas the Night of Christmas

I used embossing paste and a stencil from My Favorite Things to create the snow effect.  I also used a stitched die from My Favorite Things to frame the card.  The houses are from Lawn Fawn that I stamped twice to get the effect of a neighborhood.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is also from that Lawn Fawn set.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink to create the blue sky and I colored the houses with Tombow markers.
