Year in Review and Some Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone.  The first day of a new year is time to reflect on the past year and make plans for the new year.  I am going to do a year in review and share some of my favorite projects.  But don’t leave after the pictures because I have some resolutions to share.  🙂

Lacy Sunshine – Eleanor Shopping

It is hard to pick out a favorite from each month.  It’s fun to go back through my creations from last year.  I can’t wait to make even more projects this year and to improve and try new things.  My favorite place to find box card cuts is svgcuts.com.  And you can find some fun digital images at Lacy Sunshine Stamps, Bugaboo Digital Stamps, Doodle Pantry and Sweet and Sassy Stamps.

Now for resolutions.

  1.  Make at least one Christmas card a week.  I will post Christmas cards on Sunday (so I have Saturday to make it if I procrastinate).  Christmas Sunday every Sunday.
  2. Make a scrapbook layout weekly.  Scrapbooking is my first love and I need to catch up on layouts.  I will use the weekly theme to create a scrapbook layout.  And if the theme doesn’t fit – I can do anything goes.  😉
  3. Use what I have.  This is an annual resolution, but this year I am serious about it.  I have all kinds of wonderful products that I need to use.
  4. Try new techniques.  I always want to learn new things in paper crafting and this year is no different.
  5. Make a quilt.  I’ve signed up for a block of the month class.  I will have 12 blocks by the end of the year.  I will share my blocks as I make them.
  6. Make more videos.  I want to make more videos showing the processes I use to make my projects.  I have all the tools – now I just need to turn on the camera.  😉

I will do quarterly check ups on my resolution progress to keep myself accountable.

I hope you enjoyed the walk down memory lane and the expectations I’ve set for my next year.  Wish me luck.  🙂

Happy New Year.  I hope that 2016 is the best year yet for everyone.

Creative Knockouts – All Things New Challenge

This week’s challenge on the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog is ‘All Things New’.  Lacy Sunshine Stamps is the sponsor for this week’s challenge.  Check out their digis – they are adorable.  Even better – enter the challenge to win 3 digital images from Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

Here is the card I made using Eleanor Shopping.  I did the usual pull the image into the Silhouette Designer Software, trace the image and add registration marks to print the image.  Then I use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the image.  I used a new die from My Favorite Things for the background.  I colored Eleanor with (wait for it) Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I added gold stickles to her glasses to make them sparkle.

I love this little image.  I am definitely going to be investing in some more of these images.  They are perfect for all ages and fun to color.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more All Occasion projects.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

WOYWW 343 – Resolutions

It’s Wednesday and that means that I take a picture of my desk and I share it on Julia’s Stamping Ground for WOYWW 343.  But even more fun is going around to snoop around fellow crafter’s desks.

I have been on vacation this week and I took this opportunity to go through paper and drawers and clean out and straighten.  I also had to find a place to put one of my Christmas gifts – the Silhouette Cameo II.  🙂

Here is my clean and tidy desk.  It took 2 good days of cleaning and straightening to reach this point.  My bet is that it won’t last long.

I am off to visit some desks.  I have no excuse not to – I am on vacation!  Although in my defense – we’ve had lots of rain which means the river is past flood stage.  That means that the hubby isn’t working this week because the bridge he is building is off limits right now.  Is it wrong to be disappointed not to have this week to myself?  I don’t think so.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more ‘All Occasion’ and maybe even a Happy New Year.

Isaiah 40:31  but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Be Grateful

Christmas is still over – I am sad.  But I should be grateful that I had such a nice Christmas and now I am on vacation.  I have been organizing and cleaning up my craft room.  I have a big stack of paper to donate and I am trying find some more table top space.  So I am grateful.  I am also grateful for Sherry who has carried me this week in the ‘All Occasion’ theme.

Sherry has been digging out some Stampin Up blasts from the past stamp sets to create her cute inspirational and get well cards.  This set is called Sidekick Sayings (2007).  The ribbon, printed cardstock and enamel dots are from her stash.

This week’s theme is All Occasions and I am starting with Get Well Soon.  I should say Sherry is starting with Get Well Soon.  Sherry has been working on her stash and has shared some really cute feel better cards.

She used the same stamp for all of the cards, but they all have a different look because they are designed differently.  And I am loving the black and white.  The star of these cards is from a retired Stampin Up set called Happy Healing.  I’m tempted to bid on this set now.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for some more All Occasion cards and projects.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey.

Handmade Gifts for Christmas

I know, I know, Christmas was yesterday and we’re still talking about it?  Yes we are.  🙂  Today I am going to share some handmade Christmas.

I know I enjoy receiving gifts that are handmade because you know they are extra special.

Here is a scarf I made for a friend at work.  I could only get one of the ladies to model their gift.  I made several in the colors of their favorite teams.

I loved making these scarves.  They weren’t hard, but they did take some time.

This is a quilt that my Mom made her Grandson/my nephew from all the jerseys from his different sports teams.

Peter 1:3 – 5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Santa Claus In the House

I am continuing with the Christmas theme – this time with Santa Claus.  You can’t have Christmas without Santa – right?

Anastasia has moved into her new home and had some free time to share some of her lovely Santa Claus decorations and Christmas cards.

Matthew 1:22 – 24 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:  “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel”  (which means “God with us”).  When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.

WOYWW 342 – Mass Chaos

It is Wednesday which means that it is time for WOYWW at Julia’s Stamping Ground.  My work desk is mass chaos.
