CAS 4 Kids Card Recipe

Since this is CAS I tried to keep it quite simple.  I colored the image using Copics.  Tonic Nuvo Mousse is what makes up the background and I used stipple brushes to apply.  My Favorite Things wonky stitched circle die was used to cut out the image.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops, put it together and there you go.

Consider making some cards for our kids and entering the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Tune in next time for another project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 9:  18   Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”

Love You Fiercely

I made this card for a class I was teaching at my LCS and thought I would share.  Dee shared a pinterest pin that spurred me to make this Love You Fiercely card.  Two different releases are represented in this card – Loveable Leopards from the June release and Die-namics You Trio from the July release.

Love You Fiercely Card Recipe

The card is fairly simple.  I used Copics to color the leopard and my Scan N Cut 2 to cut him out.  Black card stock was used to cut out the You from the die namics set.  Animal print from a MFT 6 x 6 paper pad was cut a little large than the black card stock.  I love you fiercely sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink strategically placing post it note tape on the sentiment so as not to stamp the ‘you’.  The Versamark was heat set with Nuvo white embossing powder.  White dots were added with Ranger enamel dot liquid stuff (the technical term).  Loveable leopard was popped up on foam tape for dimension and all this was added to white card base.

Luke 9:  16 – 17  Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

WOYWW 428 – Creative Space

It’s Wednesday and that means it is time to take a picture of my work desk and share it on Julia’s Stamping Ground Blog.  But even more fun than that is going desk hopping to see what everyone is working on.

I’ve been working on making more desktop space in my craft room by moving things out to my craft room annex and that has been taking most of my time.  That in addition to working a full time job, teaching classes at my LCS, taking care of my granddaughter when my daughter needs help and on and on and on.  But my creative mojo is coming back.  I made a card yesterday and today – go me!

It’s sushi night and I hope to be able to make it through a lot of desks.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Tune in next time for another paper project.  Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Flowers with Sympathy

I am trying to get back into my creative mode and my box of goodies is sometimes helpful getting my mojo going.  The mother of a friend at work passed away and I offered to make a sympathy card for her.  I made flowers with sympathy using a piece I had previously colored.

Flowers with Sympathy

Box of Stuff

My box has bits and pieces that I have started, but have not finished.  So when I am struggling with being creative I reach for my box and sift through to find something that I can start with.

I found these flowers from Concord & 9th already colored just waiting to be decorated.

Flowers with Sympathy

Deep Sympathy

Nuvo Crystal Drops, gel pen and a sentiment from Avery Elle added what I needed for the card.  Pink card stock was used for the mat to coordinate with the pink in the flowers.  When I turned off the lights to go back upstairs I realized I had used glow in the dark Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Luke 9:  14 – 15  (About five thousand men were there.)  But he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”15 The disciples did so, and everyone sat down.

Daisy in Mousse

I have been missing in action. Mainly because I am going through a creative drought, but also because I have been focusing more on my creative space than my creations. That will change, but in the meantime I have some great projects that Dee has been creating in her creative space. Here is one of her latest.

Card for a Child at Creative Knockouts

It’s Thursday and that means it is time for a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week’s challenge is to make a card for a child and our wonderful sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.  Create a card and enter the challenge for a chance to win.

I love technology.  Who doesn’t right?  I love technology when it is working would be a more accurate statement.  I wanted to print this image on my new Kodak printer from Anna Griffin.  My new printer is supposed to print on thick card stock and canvas and lots of other mediums that a normal non craft printer would not print on.  Now I printed something on my new printer Sunday because I couldn’t get my laser printer to work.  This is starting to sound like a theme.

I have 3 printers and I could not get a document to print on any of them at one point on Sunday.  UGH!!!!!  So I turned my new Anna Griffin Kodak Craft printer on because it won’t stay on forever – it turns itself off.  And what do you know – it’s not connected to my Wi Fi.  Seriously?  I messed around with it for a while and then gave up.  I printed this image using my HP Envy printer which I purchased during another HSN Craft Day (another theme).  I had to turn that printer off and back on again to get it on the WI-FI.  Finally it printed.  Now it is irrelevant that I waited until the last minute to finish my design team card so don’t even bring that up!  I told this long boring story to explain why some of the ink ran when I was coloring it with my Copics.  I don’t recall having this issue before, but I sure had it today.

I used this cute image Brat and Charlie to create my card:

Googly Eyes

This adorable image is from Bugaboo Stamps where you can find all kinds of fun images to color and play with.  This card was pretty simple because I wanted the focus to be on the image.  I printed the image and proceeded to color it with my Copics.  The sentiment comes from the My Favorite Things dog stamp set from the July release.  And you can’t have a silly looking animal without googly eyes.  I layered my card front on red swiss dot paper and placed it on a card base.  Pretty simple, but with this image you don’t need elaborate.

Luke 9:  13  He replied, “You give them something to eat.”  They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.”

WOYWW 427 – Progress

It is Wednesday and that means it is time to take a picture of my crafting desk and post it on Julia’s Stamping Ground Blog for WOYWW 427.  But the best part about this whole blog hop thing is going around and perusing other people’s desks to see what they are making.

Here is my desk this week.

Luke 9:  12   Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”

All About YOU

Today is All About You Card Recipe

One of my favorite items in the last MFT Release in July is the YOU stamp and die set. I had a picture in my head of what this would look like. Let’s see if it turned out how I thought it would.

I started with watercolor card stock and rainbow colors from the Tim Holtz Oxide Distress ink collection. The first time I made ‘fat’ rainbow lines. The second time I did ‘skinny’ rainbow lines. I cut YOU out of both and also out of solid color card stock. I like the subtleties of the different colors stacked on top of one another. I used the YOU cut out of rainbow watercolor card stock to do an inlaid die cut technique.

You know I am adding enamel dots to this. And matting the card front in a coordinating color. The sentiments that come with the stamp set fit almost any situation. So I was able to easily create a set of cards for multiple occasions to add to my stash.

Luke 9: 10 – 11  When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida, but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

Anything Goes 4 Kids

It is Thursday and that means a new challenge at the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog and it’s Birthday Wishes.  This week’s sponsors are Dollar Graphics Depot and Kitchen Sink Stamps.  Prizes are $15 gift card from both sponsors.  I used Summer Stitches to create my card this week.

I think Cricut Design Space has gotten more sophisticated in it’s ability to trace images.  Now it’s not a trace like you would do in Silhouette Studio, but I am liking it for being able to print and cut out digital stamps.  I brought this Dollar Graphics image into Cricut Design Space using the upload image feature.

WOYWW 426 – Cruisin

It is Wednesday and that means I get to take a picture of my desk and share it on Julia’s Blog – the Stamping Ground for WOYWW 426.  But more fun than that is going desk hopping and see what all the crafters around the world are working on.  This week I’m just cruisin by.  Not lots on my plate, but I have a list of things I would like to accomplish.

I will be working my way around desks later this week.  Tomorrow, which is normally sushi night, is dedicated to dog grooming.  My mother-in-law and I take our dogs to Norma and she grooms them beautifully.  While she is grooming them, we go out to eat and run any errands we need to run.  It’s great fun.  I will miss the sushi, but Todd won’t cause he’s getting burned out on it.  Boo.  😉

Luke 9:  8 – 9 Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead, others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life.
