Mother’s Day Flowers

My LCS recently started carrying Concord and 9th Stamps.  You know what a big flower fan I am and Concord and 9th has some lovely flowers.  I used You Are Here to create this Mother’s Day card.  One down and one to go.

Mother’s Day Flowers Card Recipe

I decided that I wanted to try using the new Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Ink to paint.  Concord and 9th, ‘You are Here’, has a flower in the set with flowers with a large space to color which was perfect for my experiment.  Using Versamark Ink I stamped the flowers and heat embossed with them black embossing powder.  On a Tim Holtz craft mat I squished several of the Oxide Distress Ink colors and spritzed them with water.  I then proceeded to use a paint brush that I would use for watercoloring to color in the flowers.  Once I was done I set the flowers aside to dry.  So as not to waste the Oxide ink on the craft mat, I used it to create several backgrounds by spritzing it with water.  I laid the white card stock on the ink being careful not to mix colors which created and ink splotch background.  I used one of those backgrounds to create this card.  The happy die cut came with another Concord and 9th die set.  Sentiment came from the You are Here set.  Enamel dots from Doodlebug finished up the card.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Tune in tomorrow for a new challenge at the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge blog.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 6:  17 – 19  He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon,  who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured,  and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.
