This week’s theme is girlie and I used a new Penny Black stamp for my card today. I love you more than coffee is a cute girlie stamp and the sentiments with it are very cute. I kept it simple, but I had to do it three times before she turned out the way I wanted her.
I saw another card using Penny Black stamps that had the monochrome watercolor with just a splash of color and this stamp came to mind. I colored the stamp with a dark gray Tombow Marker and using my MISTI stamped the image. I colored the image a second time with the same marker and lightly misted it with water to get a nice dark outline. I used Versafine Black Onyx ink on the sentiment. I let the image dry. Then I took a nice dark blue Tombow marker and put some ink down on an acrylic block. I wet my brush and added the blue to the coffee cup. I also ran my wet brush along the outline of her image as well as on some of the lines of her hair. Where ever I imagined a shadow – I ran the wet brush on the dark line to get a little more color.
Heather Telford’s Venetian Summer was the inspiration for my card.
Heather’s work has inspired me quite a bit lately. I’ll share another girlie card she inspired later this week.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. Tune in tomorrow for some more girlie fun.
Have a great day and enjoy the journey.
Ruth 1: 14 – 15 At this they wept aloud again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her. “Look,” said Naomi, “your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.”
