This week’s theme is flowers and normally I have an overabundance of flowers. Except this week. But I do have some for today’s post. A friend of mine has a family member who is fighting breast cancer and I’ve been making some ‘fight like a girl’ cards for her to send to her for encouragement.
This card features rose buds from Elizabeth Crafts in pink. The butterflies are by Stampabilities from Hobby Lobby. I inked the background in Tim Holtz Distress ink Tumbled Glass. I stamped the butterflies in Versafine Black Onyx. The roses are in Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar and Picked Rasberry. The leaves are Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint. The stamp is from Paper Smooches.
The boxing glove is from Paper Smooches and I colored it using Copic markers. This card is very simple, but I like the message. I added enamel dots from Doodlebug and matted the card front in pink cardstock.
When I first used the layering butterflies from Hero Arts, I struggled to find colors that layered well. When I started on this card – the colors I chose just blended beautifully. I used two pinks from Hero Arts and Strawberry from Hero Arts. The sentiment is from an Altenew set and the sequins are from Doodlebug.
The ribbon was cut out using my Cricut machine. I layered the coordinating pattern paper with pink and added some tiny tiny rhinestones.
I was in a bad mood when I started working on these cards, but by the time I was done I felt much better. I felt more creative as I worked on the cards. I hope my friend’s sister-in-law finds them encouraging.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. Tune in tomorrow for more fun.
Psalm 10: 4 – 6 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”
