A Charmed Life – Creative Knockouts

It is Thursday and that means a new challenge on the Creative Knockouts Challenge Blog.  This week’s sponsor is Polkadoodles Crafting and if you enter the A Charmed Life Challenge, you have the chance to win 3 free images.

I used the Pre-coloured Mermaid to make my shaker card.

This cute image was brought into the Silhouette Studio Software so that I could use the print and cut feature in the software.  Using my Kodak printer, I printed the image and then cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo.  I duplicated the image and and flipped the duplicate horizontally.  This allowed me to put an image on the outside of the card and on the inside of the card to cover up the back of the mermaid.  The window if a die cut from My Favorite Things.  Starfish charm was in my stash.  Shake Shake Shake.  Sequins are from Hero Arts.

Luke 9:  42 – 43   Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father.  And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.

Celebrate Fall

Fall Colors 4 Kids Card Recipe

Lawn Fawn has the cutest set of stitched leaves dies that I come back to every year during the fall.  And this year felt popped into my head so I cut these adorable leaves in felt.  I used Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Ink to create the background.  Celebrate is from last month’s My Favorite Things Release.  The teeny tiny itsy bitsy word fall came from a Lawn Fawn Stamp set.  It was the only stamp I could find with the word fall.  I stacked several layers of the celebrate on top of each other to give dimension  Mat is in yellow cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Consider entering the SAS4Kids challenge and sending cards to bring a smile to a child in the hospital.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

IT’S A MESS people.  I didn’t do anything crafty this weekend, but I did press 100 t-shirts for an order.  Finally got a bug to make a card and ended up making 2 Monday night.  Hope my mojo finds its way back to my craft room.  I have dog grooming tonight so I will be visiting later in the week.

Have a great day and enjoy the journey and some chocolate.

Luke 9:  35  A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

Happy for Each Moment

I have been struggling with my crafty mojo or lack thereof and was surprised when this card came about after making my design team card for this weekend.  Don’t know what made me think of it, but fall is the perfect time for felt.  It’s fuzzy and textured and I have included it on my fall card for today.  The small stitched leaves featured on my card are from Lawn Fawn as is the sentiment Happy for Each Moment with You.

Happy for Each Moment Card Recipe

This card design started with a different design that will be on my blog for the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge starting on Saturday.  I cut out some felt leaves using the Lawn Fawn Small Leaves die set.  I had some leaves left over from that card and decided to make use of them.  Catherine Pooler inks were used to stamp the paint splat strips.  Paint Stripes are from an old Hero Arts set that I hang on to because it is one of my favorites.  As an experiment, I spritzed the stripes with water.  It ran a little, but there wasn’t a lot of change in the ink.  I did let it dry too long before I added the water which may have lessened the effect.  Happy and the sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, too.  Happy was die cut out of several different colors of card stock and then stacked to give the sentiment dimension.  For Each Moment was stamped in Chocolate My Favorite Things Ink.  Enamel dots from Doodlebug finished up the card.

Celebrate MFT

I am doing a class featuring the rounded square dies from MFT and also the Die-namics Shining Stars die set and stamp set Written in the Stars.  Today I am sharing what I made using the rounded square dies from last month’s release and Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.

Celebrate MFT Card Recipe

I started with Tim Holtz Oxide inks in Picked Rasberry, Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean.  Water color paper is my base and I rubbed the ink pad of the colors on the watercolor paper and then added water.  While that was drying I cut out the Celebrate Sentiment in black card stock and hot pink fun foam.  Nuvo Glue was used to adhere the card stock celebrate to the fun foam celebrate.  I actually put the glue on the wrong side of the sentiment and walked away.  When I came back I realized what I had done, but decided to go with it.  The background is more watercoloring with the same colors, but a lighter coat with more water.  Blue card stock was used to mat the watercolor pieces.  Watercolor cardstock was cut out with the MFT rounded square die one size smaller than the blue card stock.  And pink was used to mat the watercolor.

Luke 9:  33   As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, “Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what he was saying.)

Wishing You a Beautiful Day

It is a 30 day coloring challenge at the Daily Marker which reminds me that I have lots of images that I colored during that last challenge sitting in my stash box.  So I took this opportunity to use one of the images on today’s card.

I pulled this whole thing including the colored image, mat and both pieces in my box of partially finished stuff.  Really all I had to do was stick the pieces together and add a sentiment on some vellum to finish it up.  Now why didn’t I just put it all together earlier?  Who knows.  🙂  I am going to start taking some time to go through my box o stuff and make some more cards.

Can You Dig It?

Something to Say Card Recipe

Using my Cricut Design Space software I uploaded the images from the AMB clip art set and created the print and cut images.  The grass image is from the Cricut Design Space subscription.  Then I used the text function to design and cut out Can You Dig It?  My cloud background was in my stash.

Bright Birthday Wishes

I’ve been playing around with the tracing functionality of the new Silhouette Studio V3 software.  While playing around I traced this beautiful set of dies and was amazed at how nicely they turned out.  I realized while I was playing around that the SEND screen of the Silhouette Studio software has changed since the previous new version of the software.  Since I figured I might not be the only one struggling with figuring out where everything is, I decided to do a tutorial.  But first, here is the card I created using the cutting image.

Birthday Wishes Card Recipe

This card was creating tracing images from the internet with my Silhouette Studio software.  I have discovered spray adhesive and I love it.  These cut out are pretty intricate and although I used regular glue on my first attempt there were some shiny places on the finished card.  I was cleaning up around my room and saw the spray adhesive I purchased after seeing a Jennifer McGuire video where she used spray adhesive.  My first experience and I am hooked.  Putting this brighter version of he card together was much easier with the spray adhesive.  The sentiment die cut is from Pink & Main and was cut out in colors coordinating with the layers of the card.
